Cosmetic Dentistry

Almost all of the dental restorative treatment we provide involves the use of tooth colored materials. The two primary materials utilized are composites or porcelain. We are in a time in which the silver fillings, amalgams, are being gradually replaced by the tooth colored restorations. We are also now in an era known as bonded dentistry because many of the restorations we place in teeth are, in fact, bonded to the tooth.

There are teeth whitening systems available to patients as well. This is commonly referred to as bleaching. We also provide a professionally dispensed bleaching system that may be effective in lightening the teeth.

Cosmetic dentistry effects changes to the teeth in the "smile zone". An example of this is the placement of veneers where porcelain laminates are bonded to the front side and incisal edge of the tooth. Most of the cosmetic porcelain veneer cases we have performed are done when a rather dramatic change is desired
