Micah 6:8 tennis camp

Micah 6:8 tennis camp

In 2006 Dr. Etheredge started the Micah 6:8 Tennis Camp. Through this camp he combines his love of kids, tennis and social justice and holds a week-long camp during the summer.

The camp has two objectives. First, is teaching the game of tennis including most of the basic fundamentals and skill sets. The second objective is to expose kids to different concepts in the broad arena of social justice. Past topics have included hunger and homelessness, global poverty, the environment, and the oppression of women. It's a broad mix of playing tennis for five hours a day, talking about issues that affect the world, and other activities have included yoga, martial arts, and square dancing!

The Micah 6:8 tennis camps have been a huge success and a lot of fun. Dr. Etheredge plans to continue hosting these yearly events.
